If you’ve used a Censys Free or Starter Plan, you know the old credit model: a basic lookup cost one credit, a standard search cost five, and an advanced regex query cost eight. You ended up budgeting for every search, never quite sure what it would cost you.
That’s over. We’ve rebuilt usage around one rule: one action, one credit. Lookups, standard searches, advanced regex queries — every one is a single credit.
For the searches that matter, that’s a steep drop: five credits down to one, or eight down to one. Combined with new Starter Plan pricing — $79 for 500 actions a month, or $599 for 4,000 — a typical Starter Plan workflow now gets roughly 4x more actions per dollar under the new model.
Two plans, more room to work
Starter comes in two monthly tiers, and both give you more room to organize investigations than before:
- Starter — $79/month. 500 credits a month, 2 Collections, and 10 asset tags — more than triple the old 3-tag limit. Built for the individual practitioner: the analyst triaging an alert, the pentester scoping a target, the researcher chasing infrastructure.
- Starter Pro — $599/month. 4,000 credits a month, 4 Collections, and 25 tags. You are starting to operationalize Censys and run bigger, repeatable investigations.
Five free searches a day, for everyone
Separate from your Starter Subscription, every registered Censys user now gets five free searches every day that don’t draw down credits. A quick IP check, a certificate lookup, a fast pivot to confirm a hunch: those are on us, daily, on top of whatever your plan includes.
Subscription credits that roll over
Your monthly subscription credits refill automatically at the start of each billing cycle, and unused credits roll over into the next month, so a slow month isn’t wasted.
